Historia del Personaje

Webisode:Going Postal, Part 1

Echo corre a través de un callejón y detrás de una casa, y cuando no puede ir mas adelante dado a una cerca, se voltea y enfrente a un Doberman Pinscher. Tira su bolso de cartero y comenta cuan cliché es la situación. Le advierte al perro que se valla, pero cuando el perro continúa gruñendo él usa su habilidad para espantarlo.

Cuando el perro se va, a Echo se le acerca un hombre calvo con piel gris y otro con traje. El hombre con traje le explica que él forma parte de una Compañía que busca a gente como el y los ayuda a aprender a como usar sus habilidades especiales. Echo le explica que no hay nada especial en él y que tienen al tipo equivocado, e intenta escapar. Sin embargo, Echo es rápidamente constriccionado por el hombre calvo. Echo entonces usa su habilidad, liberándose del agarre del Constrictor, y haciendo que el hombre en el traje sangre por sus oídos con mucho dolor. Cuando el hombre con traje saca un arma, Echo uso su habilidad de nuevo, esta vez casi matando al hombre y mandando al Constrictor al suelo.

Mientras Echo huye, el Constrictor se levanta, agarra la pistola del otro hombre y realiza dos disparos hacia la dirección de Echo.

Webisode:Going Postal, Part 2

Echo DeMille llega a su hogar, y empieza a buscar a su novia Gina. La encuentra en el dormitorio, y la detiene cuando va a besarle para explicarle que piensa que ha matado a un tipo, que tiene una habilidad, y que tiene que irse lo antes posible.

Cuando Gina se prepara en otra habitación, Echo busca en los cajones del dormitorio un par de tapones para oídos. Se da cuenta que la puerta principal esta abierta. Sospechando un invitado inoportuno, agarra una guitarra y camina hacia la otra habitación para solo encontrar su gato. Echo sigue hacia la sala de estar y encuentra Gina siendo detenida por el Constrictor. Echo usa su habilidad para liberar a Gina, y agarra al Constrictor por la garganta y enfoca ondas sonoras en la oreja del Constrictor, matándolo. Pensando que esta a salvo por ahora, Echo camina y abraza a Gina. Echo y Gina miran hacia la puerta principal cuando alguien llama tres veces.

Webisode:Going Postal, Part 3

Mientras alguien toca la puerta, Echo le dice a Gina que tome su auto y huya ella sola al café en Newburry, y que si él no esta ahí en 30 minutos que se valla y siga conduciendo. Echo ademas le da a Gina un par de tapones para que los use, diciendo que les va a decir a esos tipos que se vayan de su porche.

De vuelta a adentro, Echo les abre a los dos agentes. Cuando entran y ven el cuerpo sin vida del Constrictor en el suelo, el primer agente dice que solo quieren hablar. Echo les responde que en vez de hablar ellos van a escuchar y deja escapar un grito muy alto.

Trece semanas después, Echo esta amarrado y amordazado en una celda del Nivel 5 . Angela Petrelli visita a Echo y lo manda a callar.

Echo DeMille lee una carta y recuerda como su novia pensó que su habilidad era genial, y de que como la usó para hacerle daño a varios agentes de la Compañía. Echo al café en Newburry, donde el acordó reencontrarse con Gina cuando se fue de su casa. Mientras que estaba escondido detrás de unos arbustos, Echo se fija en que un par de agentes de la Compañía están vigilando a Gina, así que le indica que se tiene que ir imitando su canción favorita cuando viajaron a través de Tailandia con solamente sus mochilas. Después de que Gina se va, Echo previene a los agentes de que la sigan creando un ruido marrón.

Trece semanas después, Echo viaja a la cabaña de su familia en Lake Arrowhead, donde había acordado eventualmente encontrarse con Gina. Piensa que ve a Gina sentada al borde del muelle, corre para abrazarla y le da un beso. Sin embargo, se da cuenta de que no ha besado Gina, y usa su habilidad para hacer que pierda el conocimiento y revelar su verdadera apariencia. Entonces, dos agentes de la Compañía con trajes negros corren hacia él, y Echo los neutraliza con el mismo tipo de explosión sónica. Un intérprete traduce lenguaje de señas del agente, diciéndole a Echo que la Compañía lo reclutó especialmente para atraparlo, ya que su habilidad especial es que su "cuerpo absorbe todo sonido." Echo, sin embargo, no se ha dado por vencido, y se promete a si mismo "volverse postal" cuando salga.

Dual

Noah suelta a los prisioneros del Nivel 5 que quedan, y les dice a Echo, Danny Pine, y Eric Doyle que el primero de ellos en matar a Sylar tendra su libertad garantizada.

Heroes Evolutions

According to NBC.com's webisode character reference for Echo DeMille, he was born in San Diego and was raised in military bases around the world. He now lives in Los Angeles and works as mailman in the day and DJ at night. Shortly after becoming a mail carrier, Echo's power began to manifest. He met his current girlfriend, Gina, two years ago in a dance club. They fell in love and bought a house together.

Echo DeMille has two brothers and a sister. He is the only one of the DeMille children not to serve in the military, and Echo's relationship with his father -- an ex-Navy SEAL -- has suffered as a consequence. Echo is closest to his sister Farah, a registered nurse.

Echo was profoundly affected when his eldest brother was killed while serving in Iraq. Later, Echo's troubled younger half-brother, Jesse, joined the military as well but was discharged during boot camp and was soon picked up the first of what would be a long series of misdemeanor and felony arrests. Echo was an early accomplice in many of Jesse's infractions but their paths diverged when Echo made his first breakthrough as a DJ.

According to an early interview with his local newspaper, Echo's self-described passion for DJing stemmed from a belief that music empowers humans on a subconscious level, increasing social potential and communication awareness. At one point, he described music as a way to hide as well as a way to get along. Apparently still unaware of his post-human abilities, Echo began to travel extensively to explore various cultures and their music traditions, and as a result, became increasingly known in club circles for both educating and entertaining his audiences through his unique, eclectic musical choices.

At the height of his success as a professional DJ, Echo announced his decision to become a mailman. He explained his choice by saying that he wanted the opportunity to serve his community and he had long admired the legendary consistency of the mail carrier to deliver "rain or shine." Shortly after joining the Postal Service, Echo's power began to manifest.

A sound manipulator, Echo can mimic and distort noise, replicate frequencies, and create sonic blasts of devastating proportions. Echo has noticed that his ability to manipulate sound increases greatly when his fight-or-flight reflex is engaged. He seems to regard his ability to manipulate sound in all its forms as both a blessing and a curse, and he actively continues to explore the extent of his power.

For the past ten years, Echo has lived in Los Angeles, a city that he calls home. He recently purchased a house with his girlfriend, Gina, using funds saved over the course of several years.

Despite -- and possibly also in reaction to -- his abilities, the subject considers himself a man of the people, quietly working as a mailman and moonlighting as a DJ. His personal correspondence and intimate conversations contain a high frequency of language regarding his loyalty to friends and loved ones.

Evolved Human Abilities

According to NBC.com's character reference, Echo is a sound manipulator. He can mimic or distort sounds, replicate frequencies, and create sonic blasts of devastating proportions. Shortly after becoming a mail carrier, Echo's power began to manifest. When his fight or flight reflex is activated, his ability to manipulate sound increases greatly. He can also absorb electrical energy and convert it on impact into a powerful sonic attack, although this can weaken him.

Echo apparently has substantial knowledge of the physics behind sound. He is able to create sounds of very specific frequencies, including the legendary "brown note", target specific areas of the human ear, mimic elaborate music, and even convert electricity into sound by acting as a "human telephone."

According to his assignment tracker file at primatechpaper.com, Echo's control index is 45%. His data analysis shows his biological level at 35, cerebral at 40, elemental at 75, and temporal/spatial at 25.
