Karen is a professor of literature at the University of Cambridge and documents the legend of Takezo Kensei in the documentary Sword Saint.

Karen Chamberlin documents the ninety ronin and Takezo Kensei's fight with the Black Bear of Sakashita. She explains the Dragon of Kiso Mountain tale as a classic conflict of a hero in love. She also documents Kensei's marriage to a princess and his self-sacrifice to save his princess from the dragon.
