|First appearance||The Second Coming|
|Occupation||Governor of New York|
|Significant other||formerly Tracy Strauss|
Robert Malden is the current governor of the state of New York.
The next day, Malden and his aide Tracy consider whether to ask Nathan to fill the junior senator seat left open after the death of Gerald Dickinson. Ultimately, at Tracy's insistence, he agrees to appoint Nathan.
Tracy talks to Malden on the phone about Nathan. During the conversation Tracy makes a comment that alludes to her, yet again, sleeping with Malden.
Governor Malden meets Tracy at a restaurant and admits that he misses her advice and that he could use a woman with her talents. Tracy accepts his job offer and later returns to him, stating that she wants to use her new job to help people. Malden tells her that she doesn't need to impress him and asks if she would like to go upstairs. Tracy goes to the bathroom and soon returns, saying that she is not okay. Malden says that he doesn't understand and Tracy leaves, saying that she knew he wouldn't.
- In reality the governor of New York in 2007 was Eliot Spitzer. His successor is David Paterson who became governor on March 17, 2008 after Eliot Spitzer resigned from office.
